About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional professional to provide individualised support to pupils, helping them explore their feelings and emotions.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our young people. As a Pastoral Mentor, you will be responsible for developing strategies to overcome individual pupils' barriers to learning, working closely with staff and parents/carers to ensure effective policies and procedures are in place.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identifying and implementing systems to monitor pupils' behaviour and wellbeing
  • Co-ordinating individual support for pupils, reviewing ongoing progress towards set goals
  • Promoting high standards of behaviour and attendance, consistently implementing school policies
Working with Staff and Parents/Carers

The successful candidate will work closely with all staff to support monitoring activities on individual pupils' behaviour and wellbeing, attending Advanced Team Teach training to support delivery in school and across Kedleston Group settings.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining regular contact with parents/carers to discuss their child's progress, behaviour, and wellbeing
  • Communicating with parents/carers about specific support in place for their child
  • Assisting parents/carers with information needed to support their child
Administration and Safeguarding

Responsibilities include maintaining accurate records of interventions and relevant meetings, facilitating pupil information transfer inside and outside the school, completing paperwork required by external agencies, and promoting safeguarding of all pupils.

Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of £32,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as generous annual leave entitlement, comprehensive induction programme, continued professional development and training, pension contributions, and a friendly team committed to getting the best outcomes for our young people.
