We are seeking a skilled Literacy Support Professional to join our dedicated team at a primary school in Colne.

Role Overview:

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the development of phonics skills among young children, helping them build a strong foundation for reading and writing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to help students develop phonics skills, including sound recognition, blending, and segmenting.
  • Collaborate with class teachers to deliver engaging phonics lessons that cater to individual needs.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress in phonics, offering constructive feedback and adjusting support strategies as needed.
  • Create a positive learning environment that fosters confidence and enthusiasm for reading and writing.

Requirements:

  • A solid understanding of phonics and early literacy development.
  • Experience working with children, ideally within an educational setting.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate young learners.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards helping children succeed.

This is a part-time position, requiring 8 hours per week. The estimated salary range for this role is £10,248 - £12,672 per annum, based on a 37-week contract. All applicants must have relevant qualifications and experience in education or teaching assistance.
