About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a primary school in Lambeth. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with autism and sensory processing challenges, enabling them to access the curriculum and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Support students with autism and sensory processing challenges in mainstream lessons, using sensory-friendly approaches to engage students and promote learning.
  2. Collaborate with the SENCO and classroom teachers to identify and address areas of need, promoting effective teaching strategies and sensory interventions.
  3. Develop and implement tailored support plans for students with autism and sensory processing challenges, ensuring their inclusion in mainstream lessons.
  4. Maintain accurate records of students' progress, monitoring their responses to different teaching strategies and sensory activities.
  5. Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers, keeping them informed about their child's progress and involving them in planning and decision-making.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with students with autism and sensory processing needs, preferably in a primary school setting.
  • Familiarity with sensory integration techniques and interventions, such as occupational therapy and speech therapy.
  • A calm, patient, and flexible approach to working with students with diverse needs.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and maintain open lines of communication with parents.
  • A clear DBS check is required to ensure the safety and welfare of all students.
Salary:

£30,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience.
