Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Associate Technical Director to join our growing Energy Transition team. This role will work closely with a range of clients, including developers, building managers, fund managers, and organisational sustainability leads looking to improve the sustainable performance of their buildings, estates, and portfolios. The successful candidate will have practical experience supporting clients on their Net Zero Carbon journey and leadership skills to support our teams' growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership: Ensure technical strategic decision-making whilst developing work and delivering against client ambitions. Key requirements include:
    • Asset decarbonisation
    • Net zero audits
    • Building modelling (thermal modelling)
    • Renewable assessments
    • Heat decarbonisation
    • Energy storage
  • Project Delivery: Take accountability for a range of project sizes and utilisation of team to deliver, taking responsibility for resourcing, skills, and quality.
  • Business Growth and Opportunity Development: Support the growth of the team through development of market opportunities. Support Energy Transition Service Line lead with development of growth strategy, internal and external marketing, account and client plans, client engagement, and the development.
  • Business Development: Development, input, and leadership of specific pursuits, including complex and multi-disciplinary bids.
  • Team Leadership and Management: Support the mentoring, upskilling, and training of other team members across both technical and consultancy delivery skills.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Technical Experience: Demonstrable leadership experience of technical delivery of a range of asset decarbonisation, renewable energy, heat decarbonisation, building thermal energy modelling, EPC, MEES, renewable energy technologies and software, due diligence, heat networks and energy Masterplanning and systems, industrial heat decarbonisation, net zero, and organisational change.
  • Commercial Delivery Advice: Experience of financial modelling, commercial delivery model advice, business case, and options development.
  • Project and Programme Management: Experience of delivering and managing a number of large and complex projects concurrently, taking account of resourcing, quality, and finance.
  • Business Development and Marketing: Experience of developing market growth strategies, client engagement, and client growth strategies, development of internal and external client networks, and co-ordination of complex pursuits and bids.
  • People Development: Experience of developing and growing teams, supporting individuals with skill development and career progression.
  • Team Growth and Development: Support on the strategic thinking and growth plans for asset decarbonisation, renewable energy, and wider Energy Transition growth.
