Senior Research Associate in Sustainable Energy

The International Society for Industrial Ecology invites applications for a Senior Research Associate position in Sustainable Energy as part of the Climate Compatible Growth (CCG) programme. This exciting research programme involves leading UK universities and KTH Sweden, focusing on modelling critical mineral supply chains to support low-carbon transition for energy and transport systems in developing countries.

As a Senior Research Associate, you will lead research efforts in critical material production and supply chains, model supply chain changes techno-economically, and collaborate with institutions in selected CCG partner countries. Your key responsibilities will include academic and policy writing, project management, and teamwork.

To succeed in this role, you must have a PhD in Engineering or a similar relevant technical field, with significant experience working in a post-doctoral position or equivalent experience. You should possess excellent collaboration and communication skills, as well as knowledge and experience in environmental assessment, emissions accounting, tools of Industrial Ecology, programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB, R), software control (e.g., GitHub), and GIS-type software.

We offer a competitive salary range of £45,585 - £57,696. The role is fixed-term, but we expect our experts to make a lasting impact on the field.
