Job Title: Community Communication Therapist
Role Overview:
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our team as a Community Communication Therapist. In this role, you will work with adults who have communication and swallowing disorders following a stroke.
About the Job:
This is a full-time position based at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHS Foundation Trust. As a Community Communication Therapist, you will provide specialist assessment and rehabilitation to adults with complex communication and swallowing needs in the community.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialist assessment and rehabilitation to adults with communication and swallowing disorders following a stroke
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team on the acute stroke unit and deliver care in the community
- Develop and implement individualised treatment plans for patients
Requirements:
- A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy from the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Current registration with the HCPC
- Membership of the RCSLT
- Evidence of postgraduate study in dysphagia and ongoing continuing professional development (CPD)
- Significant relevant specialist clinical experience working with patients with communication difficulties and dysphagia
- Experience in delivering education and training packages and supervising junior therapists
- Competent to a high level in managing complex patients with communication and/or swallowing disorders
- Excellent interpersonal skills, observation, listening, and empathy skills
Salary Range: £38,000 - £50,000 per annum
