About the Position

This permanent role offers a fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our young people. As a Residential Childcare Support Worker, you will be responsible for supporting daily routines, developing life skills and independence, and promoting socialisation.

Main Responsibilities

  • Supporting daily routines, including getting the young people up, promoting personal hygiene, meals, school runs or activities
  • Developing life skills and independence, promoting socialisation, supporting bedtime routines
  • Attending medical/other appointments
  • Supporting plans on activity planners
  • Completing day sheets for the young people and working with them on their targets
  • Completing handover documents/tasks
  • Completing all daily paperwork
  • Completing budgeting requirements
  • Completing daily room checks and housecleaning tasks
  • Completing food/other shopping needs, meal preparation, kitchen hygiene/laundry duties
  • Liaising/building relationships with families, sorting/planning family time contacts

Requirements

  • Flexibility in availability for sleep-in nights and shift work (14 hours, typically 2 full days on, 2 days off)
  • Understanding of issues facing young people in care
  • Hold Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent - willing to work towards required qualification
  • Excellent communication/listening skills
  • Will to learn/be part of a small team
  • DBS check at enhanced level
  • Experience with Emotional Behavioural Disorder, Social/Residential Work or Youth Work advantageous
  • Full clean UK driving licence, cover other homes as needed

Salary Information

The estimated annual salary for this position is between £29,357.40 and £30,295.20, inclusive of sleep ins.
