Job Details:

Residential Childcare Support Worker at North Lakes Children's Services: a dynamic and rewarding role that offers the chance to make a real difference in the lives of young people in care. Our ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a genuine commitment to delivering high-quality care and support.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Supporting daily routines, including getting residents up, promoting personal hygiene, meals, and activities
  • Assisting with room cleans, developing life skills, and promoting socialization
  • Attending medical and other appointments
  • Completing necessary paperwork, including day sheets and handover documents
  • Liaising with families, planning family time, and building relationships

Requirements:

  • Flexibility in availability for sleep-in nights and shift work (14 hours)
  • Understanding of issues affecting young people in care
  • Hold a Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma/Children and Young People's Workforce/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Ability to work well as part of a small team
  • DBS check at enhanced level
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to cover at other residential homes
