**Job Summary**

NHS England London Region seeks a highly skilled Senior Communications and Engagement Officer to enhance its communications output.

The ideal candidate will have experience in communications and stakeholder management, with a good understanding of the health and social care environment.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Provide written briefings for journalists and political stakeholders, including drafting press releases and reactive media statements.
  • Develop strong networks with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and coordination of work.
  • Support the team across a range of campaigns and communications projects.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in communications and stakeholder management.
  • A good understanding of the health and social care environment and roles and responsibilities within it.
  • Some experience of working in a fast-paced environment, delivering against competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Good understanding of varied communication channels, their impact, limitations, risks, and opportunities.

Skills and Abilities

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Clear communication skills with excellent writing, report writing, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret information, pre-empt and evaluate issues, and recommend an appropriate course of action.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to respond to sudden unexpected demands.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to anticipate.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level in a relevant subject or have equivalent level of experience in a specialist area.
