Deputy Depot Scheduling Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Depot Scheduling Manager to join our Engineering Centre in Leyton.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting the Depot Scheduling Manager in creating and maintaining the TMI (Temple Mills International depot) Standard Week, ensuring alignment with commercial periods and managing in-month plan changes. They will also be responsible for liaising with the Maintenance Planner to agree on the Rolling Stock Forecast and ensuring maintenance requirements are complete and understood by all parties.

This is a challenging role that requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. The successful candidate will have a sound knowledge of railway operating procedures, maintenance planning, and scheduling processes and practices.

Your Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating and maintaining the TMI Standard Week, ensuring alignment with commercial periods and managing in-month plan changes.
  • Liaise with the Maintenance Planner to agree on the Rolling Stock Forecast and ensure maintenance requirements are complete and understood by all parties.
  • Manage the TMI Interiors planning, workload creation, and monitoring processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with production managers to consolidate gains in production capacity at TMI through planning and KPI updates.
  • Evaluate and monitor depot resources and capabilities to meet changing maintenance plan requirements.
  • Conduct assessments to determine the capacity and capability of the TMI depot to deliver against the 4-week Rolling Stock forecast.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of railway operating procedures, maintenance planning, and scheduling processes and practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills and a good appreciation of IT systems and system development.
