Investment Development and Early Career Investors Lead

As the Director of Investor Development and Early Career, you will lead our efforts to build out our holistic learning and development for investment professionals throughout the lifecycle from new analyst to seasoned portfolio manager.

In conjunction with investment leaders and our talent acquisition team, you will identify and nurture investment talent for the firm while raising the profile of our brand in the early career recruiting market.

You will be a strategic leader in the Investment Enablement team, with global responsibility and have oversight for the Capital Associates Program (CAP) – a premier early career investment training program.

You will plan and manage both broad and targeted development initiatives across multiple global groups with the objective of increasing associates' effectiveness via improvements in technical and functional investment skillsets as well as broader business acumen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Envision and enact a learning and development strategic plan for the full lifecycle of an investor
  • Provide leadership for the Capital Associates Program (CAP), utilizing best practices within the early career and investor development space
  • Identify, prioritize, and evaluate key Learning and Development initiatives for Investors at Capital
  • Monitor and assess the overall effectiveness of the current learning and development programs, adjusting as necessary to achieve the desired outcomes
  • Manage a team that includes associates rotating through the early career program

Requirements:

  • Bachelor/Master's degree
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive talent development experience
  • Early career program management experience
  • Minimum of 5 years working in the financial services industry, preferably with direct investor/research experience (buy or sell side)
  • Experience developing a learning and development strategy, influencing investors and leaders across the organization, and executing for measurable results

  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to develop, mentor, and coach others
  • Passion for learning and development with expert knowledge of the early career and investment research space
  • Energetic and action-oriented with the ability to create excitement around a compelling vision in a collaborative, team-oriented fashion
  • Ability to cut through complexity and ambiguity, prioritize effectively, set clear goals, and operate in an agile fashion
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute work across broad, diverse stakeholders
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to influence strategy across a diverse group of associates and senior business leaders
  • Leadership by example with a commitment to inclusive behavior that inspires and influences leaders across Capital to adopt and champion DE&I programs and initiatives

Compensation:

Southern California: $217,648-$370,002

San Francisco: $239,993-$407,988

New York: $230,736-$392,251
