Role Overview

As a Visitor Engagement team member at the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust London Wetland Centre, you will be instrumental in creating a memorable experience for our visitors. Your primary responsibility will be to provide a warm and informative welcome to our centre, ensuring that all visitors feel at ease and have a clear understanding of the site's layout and facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for visitors, providing them with a friendly and helpful welcome.
  • Assist our guides in the hide, helping visitors to spot wildlife and use our binoculars and telescopes.
  • Participate in the delivery of various events and activities, including holiday-based programs and interactive experiences.
  • Help maintain the site's appearance by performing tasks such as litter-picking, cleaning signs, and sweeping the Courtyard or hides.

  • A genuine interest in wildlife, nature, and the outdoors.
  • The ability to engage with people of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
