About the Role

Beacon Support Ltd. is recruiting a Specialist Study Skills Support Tutor to provide one-to-one support to Higher Education students with specific learning differences. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with SpLDs and be able to adapt their approach to meet individual needs.

This is a part-time, zero-hours contract position offering flexibility and autonomy. As a member of our team, you will receive comprehensive induction training and ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with students to identify areas of strength and weakness and develop tailored support plans.
  • Provide regular feedback and guidance to students on their progress and adjust support strategies as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless support provision.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of experience working with individuals with specific learning differences in higher education settings.
  • Possession of a degree-level qualification and relevant professional membership (e.g., PATOSS, BDA, ADSHE, or Dyslexia Guild).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds.
