We are seeking an experienced teaching assistant to work in one of our client alternative provisions in Chesterfield. As a learning support specialist, you will play a crucial role in shaping the educational journey of students with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties.

You will work closely with a diverse group of students, adapting your teaching methods to meet individual needs and promoting engagement through innovative approaches. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working alongside teachers to provide tailored support that stimulates students with SEN needs, including ASD and ADHD.
  • Setting targets for students and monitoring their progress.
  • Ensuring every student can access and reach their full potential.
  • Supporting students through challenging issues and finding effective solutions.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with children who exhibit challenging behaviour, have an outgoing and nurturing personality, and be willing to support SEMH learners. To be eligible for this role, you must hold a valid Right to Work in the UK, an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, and provide two professional child-related references covering the last two years.
