Job Title: Principal Engineer - Strategic Weapons Organisation
">Location: Barrow-in-Furness
Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum
About the Role:
- Support the development of the Task Authorisation Forms and ensure that GFE material is rectified.
- Review US supplied documents for impact on the UK platform and distribute them to internal stakeholders for review and comment.
- Engage with the Change Management community via the Enterprise Change Request (ECR) process to ensure a full impact assessment is conducted.
- Provide engineering SQEP to assist with verification of US & UK requirements.
- Contribute to the development of an enduring Trident Engineering capability.
- Encourage and guide continuous improvement, challenging current practice where appropriate.
About You:
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- An engineering degree or equivalent experience.
- Chartership or working towards.
- Understanding of the role of an SSBN, its mission and how the Strategic Weapon System (SWS) contributes to it.
- Understanding of the operation of the SWS and the platform equipment and services required to allow it to meet availability targets.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
- Knowledge of the US-supplied product, and how they impact on UK platform design.
- Ability to contribute to the SWS Engineering/integration aspects of documentation reviews, design reviews and decision panels.
- Basic understanding of Life Cycle Management.
