Risk Management Specialist

The Senior Project Manager is accountable for the overall success of a project, ensuring compliance with Kongsberg Maritime strategies. This role contributes to the development of the overall strategic goals and 'must win' battles for business.
This role is responsible for ensuring projects are executed and aligned with Kongsberg Maritime objectives, including supporting the tendering process, delivery, and its lifecycle. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing project execution strategies in conjunction with the Sales Team
- Identifying and managing risk in the bid, negotiation, and delivery phases of the project
- Executing projects in the portfolio, resulting in deliveries to internal and external customers
- Establishing project organisations within the portfolio, ensuring effective project execution throughout its lifecycle
- Efficiently utilising resources and developing people within the Project Management function
- Ensuring efficient handover between Sales and Delivery, as well as from Delivery to Global Customer Support
- Supporting the development and maintenance of the KM Business Management System in relation to project delivery processes and procedures
- Driving project execution in accordance with the Company's HSE & Quality standards, ensuring on-time delivery and adherence to budgets
Key Accountabilities:
- Supporting tender meetings and pre-bid reviews in accordance with the sales process, targeting best results for the Company
- Contributing to the categorization of projects based on their risk profile
- Approving project budgets, goals, and strategy for each contract
- Establishing and signing the Project Charter to empower project managers to meet or exceed budget targets, meet on-time delivery targets, follow HSE & Quality guidelines, and enable handover from Sales to efficient project launch
Qualifications and Experience:
- Project and programme management experience is essential
- Working within the highly regulated marine industry with classification societies is desirable
- Educated to degree level or equivalent is essential
- Budget management and human resource balancing experience is essential
- Proven track record of leading delivery of projects to quality, cost, and schedule is essential
- Proven track record in contract negotiations and settlement agreements is essential
This role requires a strong ability to support the development of the business vision and strategy, act on own initiative, make things happen, and accept responsibility for the results. The ideal candidate will be able to provide a clear direction, inspire, and coordinate others, and comply with company rules and procedures.
This role reports to the VP Stabilisers and Naval Steering Gear business and is based in Dunfermline.
