About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Counselling Psychologist to join our team at East London NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Psychiatric Liaison Service (PLS) leadership team, you will contribute to the development and delivery of psychological services across our general hospital wards and A& E settings.

Main Responsibilities
  • Contribute a psychological perspective to multidisciplinary service development and delivery, including reviewing pathways to meet the needs of our service users.
  • Provide specialist psychological assessment, treatment, and support to patients with complex mental health needs, including those with severe mental illness, complex mental health difficulties, and high-risk presentations.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for healthcare professionals across the hospital, focusing on psychological therapies and psychiatric assessment and treatment.
  • Collaborate with healthcare disciplines to develop integrated physical and mental health pathways.
Requirements
  • Postgraduate Doctoral level training in Clinical or Counselling Psychology or equivalent accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS).
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Experience of working as a qualified Clinical or Counselling Psychologist at a highly specialist level, preferably in the NHS or similar public health provider.
  • Proven ability to provide teaching, training, and clinical supervision.
