About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Counselling Psychologist to join our team at East London NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Psychiatric Liaison Service (PLS) leadership team, you will contribute to the development and delivery of psychological services across our general hospital wards and A&E settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute a psychological perspective to multidisciplinary service development and delivery, including reviewing pathways to meet the needs of our service users.
  • Provide specialist psychological assessment and treatment of patients with complex mental health difficulties and high risk presentations in crisis to A&E.
  • Develop and deliver training programmes for general wards and devise joint work with health disciplines across the hospital.
  • Join regular countywide Psychology Clinical Governance and peer-led CPD meetings.
Person Specification

We are looking for a qualified Clinical or Counselling Psychologist with a Post Graduate Doctoral level training in Clinical or Counselling Psychology or equivalent accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS). You will have an NHS Core Profession or demonstrable equivalent knowledge, skills, and attitudes, as well as relevant specialist short courses.

Essential qualifications include registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and written and oral English sufficient for your work. Desirable qualifications include clinical supervision training for doctoral clinical/counselling psychology trainees.
