Job Summary:

Egis Road Operation Uk Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Highway Structures Inspector to join our team. As a Senior Highway Structures Inspector, you will be responsible for managing the Structures Inspectors to plan, programme and undertake Principal, General and Special Structures Inspections in line with agreed timescales, budgets, procedures, standards, guidance and industry best practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Structures Inspectors: Plan, programme and undertake Principal, General and Special Structures Inspections in line with agreed timescales, budgets, procedures, standards, guidance and industry best practice.
  • Deliver the Structures Inspection Portfolio: Deliver the full structures inspection portfolio to programme, budget and quality.
  • Oversee Contracted Works: Oversee the contracted works for structures inspections.
  • Oversee Inspection Programme: Oversee the inspection programme and the inspectors' progress, updating accordingly.
  • Ensure Work Package Plans and RAMS: Ensure Work Package Plans and all RAMS are in place for inspections, giving guidance to inspectors when required.
  • Liaise with Roadspace Co-ordinator: Liaise with the Roadspace Co-ordinator to ensure roadspace, traffic management and access arrangements are in place.
  • Ensure Inspections are Delivered: Ensure inspections are delivered in-line with standards in the M25 DBFO Contract, The Inspection Manual for Highway Structures, DMRB CS-450 and bespoke guidelines.
  • Investigate New Technologies: Investigations into new technologies for inspections.
  • Senior Inspector Qualification: Qualified as a Senior Inspector on the Bridge Inspector Certification Scheme (BICS) or working towards qualification with demonstrable evidence of the core competencies required.
  • Planning and Undertaking Inspections: Proficient in planning and undertaking all types of Inspections. Experience in planning traffic management and access equipment.
  • Defect Recognition and Categorisation: Capable of recognising and categorising a broad range of defects to current highways inspection standards.
  • Motivating and Advising Others: Demonstrate ability to motivate and advise others regarding structures inspections, repair recommendations and reporting.
  • Rail Possessions and BAPA's: Knowledge of rail possessions and managing the associated BAPA's.
  • Project and Programme Management: Experience of working with and managing projects and programmes.
  • National Highways IAMIS Database and Bridge Management Systems: Knowledge and experience of the National Highways IAMIS database and Bridge Management Systems.
  • Latest National Highways Inspection Codes: Full knowledge and understanding of the latest National Highways inspection codes plus The Inspection Manual for Highway Structures.
  • Confined Spaces, IPAF, PASMA, PTS: Certified for Confined Spaces, IPAF, PASMA, PTS.

Base Location:

The base location for this role can be any of the following depots: South Mimms, Leatherhead or Dartford.
