**Employee Relations Specialist**
We are seeking an experienced Employee Relations Specialist to join our team at Mitie. As an ER Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting our managers to create a positive and inclusive work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a caseload of complex Employee Relations issues, utilizing your knowledge of ER and employment law to provide expert advice and guidance.
- Utilize technology, including our case management system, to deliver a high-quality service to our customers across the UK and Europe.
- Collaborate with our legal team to manage Early Conciliation and ET claims, and with our Occupational Health providers to ensure a comprehensive approach to Employee Relations.
- Conduct policy and process reviews, making recommendations for improvement and driving the implementation of enhanced services, policies, and procedures.
- Build relationships with the wider HR team and escalate significant concerns in their business areas.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders, including HR Managers, HR Business Partners, ER Managers, and the Head of ER, to refer high-risk ER cases.
- Employee Relations knowledge and experience, or operational management experience.
- CIPD qualified or looking for the opportunity to be supported with your studies.
- HR shared service centre experience is preferable.
- Proficient IT skills, including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
- Experience using an HR case management system.
- An understanding of HR systems would be an advantage.
- Up-to-date working knowledge of current employment law.
- HR advisory experience, with a good working knowledge of theory and best practice.
- Experience of working in a unionized environment is preferable.
- Strong understanding of and respect for confidentiality.
- Curious thinker - has an inquisitive mind, researches, and asks questions.
- Strong customer service focus, with excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong case management skills, where there are competing priorities.
- Well-organized, with the ability to work to tight deadlines and excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work well in a team and to work on own initiative.
- Coaching & influencing – uses different approaches and influencing techniques supported by logic, facts, and key benefits.
