About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Employee Relations Specialist to join our team at Mitie. As an ER Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting our managers to create a positive and inclusive work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of complex Employee Relations issues, utilizing your knowledge of ER and employment law to provide expert advice and guidance.
  • Utilize technology, including our case management system, to deliver a high-quality service to our customers across the UK and Europe.
  • Collaborate with our legal team to manage Early Conciliation and ET claims, and with our Occupational Health providers to ensure a comprehensive approach to Employee Relations.
  • Conduct policy and process reviews, making recommendations for improvement and driving the implementation of enhanced services, policies, and procedures.
  • Build relationships with the wider HR team and escalate significant concerns in their business areas.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders, including HR Managers, HR Business Partners, ER Managers, and the Head of ER, to refer high-risk ER cases.
Requirements
  • Employee Relations knowledge and experience, or operational management experience.
  • CIPD qualified or looking for the opportunity to be supported with your studies.
  • HR shared service centre experience is preferable.
  • Proficient IT skills, including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Experience using an HR case management system.
  • An understanding of HR systems would be an advantage.
  • Up-to-date working knowledge of current employment law.
  • HR advisory experience, with a good working knowledge of theory and best practice.
  • Experience of working in a unionized environment is preferable.
  • Strong understanding of and respect for confidentiality.
