Job Summary
This position requires a highly skilled and experienced clinical leader who can manage the ongoing developments and delivery of care to males in an acute care setting. The successful candidate will possess high-quality clinical and managerial skills to ensure the maintenance of current high standards of effective delivery of patient care.
Main Duties of the Job
The clinical team leader will be responsible for taking total management responsibility while promoting good working relationships and being responsible for the professional development of the staff within the multidisciplinary team. The role requires a registered nurse or occupational therapist with experience of managing and leading teams, preferably in an acute or older adult inpatient setting.

Job Responsibilities
The clinical team leader will be accountable for their own actions in accordance with the Code of Professional Conduct. They will contribute to corporate objectives, acting within local, trust, and statutory guidelines and policies at all times. They will be responsible for clinical assessment of a group of patients and management of a team, ensuring appropriate care is planned, implemented, and evaluated/audited, involving patients and their carers as appropriate.
The role requires a skilled practitioner and clinical leader who can provide support to the management team, participating in service/policy development and implementation. They will be responsible for organizing cross-departmental/organisational activities, including HR, resource, and bleep-holder responsibilities as required.
The clinical team leader will demonstrate highly technical and/or practical skills to ensure optimum patient management, including complex patient monitoring, equipment management, and frequent administration of invasive tests. They will develop and educate staff, participating in supervision, mentorship, and appraisal as required.
They will utilize and ensure others utilize IT systems to secure accurate and timely patient, workforce, and resource data. They will manage expected and unexpected clinical events requiring high but unpredictable levels of physical effort according to patient dependency/clinical need, referring to a senior member of staff where appropriate in an unexpected situation.
The clinical team leader will promote and monitor adherence to Health and Safety and Trust policy designed to protect healthcare staff and service users from known hazards. They will maintain a clean, safe environment, ensuring adherence to Trust standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and infection control at all times.
