Adult Community Speech and Language Therapist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality speech and language therapy services to adults in the community.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive team, providing speech and language therapy to adults with communication and swallowing disorders. You will be responsible for assessing and treating patients with a range of acquired and progressive neurological conditions, non-neurological conditions, and voice disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Provide speech and language therapy services to adults in the community, assessing and treating patients with communication and swallowing disorders.
- Make differential diagnoses of communication and swallowing difficulties based on specialist formal and informal clinical assessments.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans to meet the needs of patients.
- Use appropriate outcome measures to evaluate personal clinical effectiveness.
- Submit activity data accurately, regularly, and promptly in accordance with agreed guidelines and policies.
- Supervise the work of less experienced SLTs, students, and assistants, ensuring they have the appropriate level of competence.
- Participate in the development of SLT Service risk management, quality standards setting, and Clinical Governance/audit projects.
- Recognized Speech and Language Therapy Degree qualification or equivalent.
- Health & Care Professions Council registration number.
- Completion of RCSLT dysphagia competencies.
- At least 1 year's experience working with an adult caseload, managing swallowing disorders and communication issues.
- Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team, with good team working skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative, seeking support as required.
