Adult Community Speech and Language Therapist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality speech and language therapy services to adults in the community.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive team, providing speech and language therapy to adults with communication and swallowing disorders. You will be responsible for assessing and treating patients, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide speech and language therapy services to adults in the community, including assessment, treatment, and follow-up care.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and other therapists, to ensure comprehensive care.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify communication and swallowing disorders.
- Develop and implement programs to improve communication and swallowing skills.
- Provide education and support to patients, families, and caregivers to promote independence and self-advocacy.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A recognized Speech and Language Therapy degree qualification or equivalent.
- Health & Care Professions Council registration number.
- Completion of RCSLT dysphagia competencies.
- At least 1 year's experience working with an adult caseload, managing swallowing disorders and communication issues.
- Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
