About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality speech and language therapy services to adults in the community, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and treat adults with communication and swallowing disorders, using evidence-based practices and interventions.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, working collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Conduct formal and informal clinical assessments to make differential diagnoses and inform treatment decisions.
  • Provide education and training to patients, families, and healthcare staff on communication and swallowing strategies.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and support.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and policies.
  • Supervise and mentor less experienced Speech and Language Therapists, students, and assistants.
Requirements
  • Recognized Speech and Language Therapy Degree qualification or equivalent.
  • Health & Care Professions Council registration number.
  • Completion of RCSLT dysphagia competencies.
  • At least 1 year's experience working with an adult caseload, managing swallowing disorders and communication issues.
  • Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team, with excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
