Key Responsibilities- Assess and treat adults with communication and swallowing disorders, using evidence-based practices and interventions.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, working collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, using standardized tools and techniques, to identify communication and swallowing difficulties.
- Provide education and training to patients, families, and healthcare professionals on communication and swallowing strategies.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and support for patients.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development of policies and procedures that promote best practice in speech and language therapy.
- Supervise and mentor less experienced Speech and Language Therapists, students, and assistants, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality care.
- Recognized Speech and Language Therapy Degree qualification or equivalent.
- Health & Care Professions Council registration number.
- Completion of RCSLT dysphagia competencies.
- At least 1 year's experience working with an adult caseload, managing swallowing disorders and communication issues.
- Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
