Supporting Young People in Care

Protective Care Group is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join our team. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, caring, and loving environment for the children and young people in our care.

Our young people have faced challenging beginnings in life, and as a result, they may exhibit complex behaviors. As a Support Worker, you must be comfortable with behaviors such as absconding, self-harm, and attachment disorder. You will work closely with our team to develop personalized care plans and provide emotional support to our young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting young people in their daily lives, including education, leisure activities, and personal care
  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships with young people, their families, and other professionals
  • Participating in shift work, including day and night shifts, and sleeping in
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of care plans

Requirements:

  • A Level 3 qualification in Child and Residential Care (or a suitable alternative) is desirable, but not essential
  • An outgoing personality, willingness to get stuck in, and a passion for working with young people
  • An understanding of trauma and its effects on behavior, with a willingness to learn and develop your skills
  • Full right to work in the UK and a valid UK manual driving license
