Copello is a leading company in the Electronic Warfare industry, and we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Firmware Design Engineer to join our team in Buckinghamshire. This is a remote-friendly role with occasional on-site work required.

About the Job

We are looking for a talented Senior Firmware Design Engineer to lead the design, development and test of new and existing FPGA firmware products for Electronic Warfare (EW) training pods. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing production FPGA firmware, ideally for Software Defined Radio, EW, communications or surveillance systems for an airborne environment.

Job Description

This role involves:

  • Designing, developing and testing high-speed firmware components
  • Peer reviewing firmware and producing documentation to support it
  • Assisting in estimating, planning and progress reporting
  • Providing support to the project and systems teams
Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • Familiarity with Xilinx (AMD) Vivado and Microsemi Libero design tools
  • Proficiency in VHDL language and scripting language Tcl
  • Experience of designing digital processing components and algorithms in Matlab/Simulink design for HDL coder and targeting FPGA devices
  • Experience of implementing efficient resource and time-critical firmware on latest technology ultra-large FPGA and SoC FPGA devices with multi-ARM processors
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of £80,000 - £100,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as opportunities for career growth and professional development.
