About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Firmware Engineer to join our team at Copello, working on a major Electronic Warfare (EW) programme. The successful candidate will lead the design, development and test of new and existing FPGA firmware products for EW training pods.

Project Overview

The EW programme involves the design, development and test of new and existing FPGA firmware products for EW training pods. The successful candidate will work closely with other engineers and technical staff to design, develop and test firmware components, ensuring they meet the required standards and quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and test high-speed firmware components using VHDL language and Xilinx (AMD) Vivado and Microsemi Libero design tools.">
• Collaborate with other project team members to analyse and address project requirements.">
• Support the implementation of design review practice, including system design reviews and critical design reviews.">
• Produce documentation to support the product, including user manuals and technical notes.">
• Assist in estimating, planning and progress reporting, and provide support to the project and systems teams.">

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have highly experience (10+ years) in developing production FPGA firmware, ideally for EW, communications or surveillance systems in an airborne environment. They should be proficient in digital implementation in VHDL language, familiar with Xilinx (AMD) Vivado and Microsemi Libero design tools, and experienced in designing digital processing components and algorithms in Matlab/Simulink.

What We Offer
