We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Patient Partnership Lead to join our team at Newcastle University.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading public partnership activities across Newcastle Health Innovation Partners (NHIP) and the Clinical Research Directorate (CRD).

This role will involve developing and delivering an integrated patient and public involvement strategy, building on existing work and collaborating with esteemed researchers, clinicians, local leaders, and community stakeholders.

You will provide leadership and strategic coordination of public partnership activity, working closely with partner organisations and NIHR infrastructure to ensure value is added to the existing PPIE offering.

A key aspect of this role will be creating and delivering a public partnership strategy, including project plans to achieve short, medium, and long-term objectives.

Additionally, you will support and develop colleagues involved in public partnership, and lead by example in delivering high-quality and impactful public partnership activities.

You will also be expected to horizon-scan and stay up-to-date with the latest thinking and developments on public partnership in health and social care research.

The ideal candidate will have a sound understanding and experience of public involvement in health and social care research, as well as proven high-level decision-making and problem-solving skills.

They will have substantial relevant experience in patient and public engagement, demonstrating development through involvement in progressively demanding work/roles.

Able to develop a long-term strategy and manage people and projects to deliver this across organisations, identifying when changes are needed to keep things on track and make these.

Experience of leading and developing others, developing and implementing policies and procedures, and strong communication, team, and interpersonal skills are essential.

Estimated salary for this position is £55,295 per annum, reflecting the location and industry standards.
