Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
Description: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Learning Support Assistant in an Alternative Provision setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
About This Role:This role is based in Aylesbury and offers a competitive salary of £23,000 - £25,600 per annum (£450-£500 per week), depending on experience. You will be working with a talented team to provide individualised support to students with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Work collaboratively with teaching staff to provide individualised support to students with complex needs, including those with Autism, SEMH, and other learning difficulties.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, families, and other professionals to ensure the well-being and academic success of all students.
- Assist with lesson planning, delivery, and assessment to ensure that students receive a high-quality education.
- An Undergraduate Degree (preferable) and/or previous SEN experience, ideal for Criminology and Psychology Graduates.
- Experience working with and observing how mental health and Autism, for example, affects girls compared to boys, points often overlooked.
- Good general education levels in English and Maths, with 5 grade and above desired.
- A real focus on outside interests that diversify away from the core subjects, building key and personal skills - Sport, Cooking, Coding, Dance, Hair Dressing, Photography.
- Knowledge, keen interest, or understanding of the range of different types of learning and behavioural needs (SEMH elements of the provision).
