Accounts Assistant Job Description

Page Personnel Finance is partnering with a successful business based in Southampton to find an Accounts Assistant to join their accountancy team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing invoices and payments, reconciling supplier statements, performing bank reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process invoices and payments to ensure timely and accurate financial transactions.
  • Reconcile supplier statements to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Perform bank reconciliations to ensure financial records are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Support month-end reporting and account reconciliation to ensure financial statements are accurate and compliant.
  • Process staff expenses and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Assist with audit preparation and provide administrative support to the finance team.

Requirements
  • Experience in a similar finance or accounting role, preferably in a ledger management capacity.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Xero, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.

Salary
£25,000 - £30,000
