**What is the role?**

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Clerk/Credit Controller to oversee the entire Accounts Receivable function, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of customer invoicing. You will optimise the cash cycle through effective management of credit control processes, working closely with internal stakeholders and departments.

**What will you be doing?**

Along with the core responsibilities listed below, you will help support the management accounts team during the full year and interim audits, ensure all transactions are accurately recorded, with a focus on accurate recording of revenue, costs and VAT. You will look to optimise the use of our information systems, by transitioning all off-system accounting records and transactions on to the finance systems.

You’ll also be responsible for completing period-end on the sales ledger.

Duties and responsibilities include:

- Raise Accounts Receivable invoices, credit notes and creating new customers on the finance system.
- Allocating all payments received from sales ledger customers, verifying any discrepancies at the time of receipt and rectifying any balances.
- Undertaking regular credit control duties, including customer phone calls to chase outstanding debts, issuing dunning letters and sending monthly debtor statements.
- Providing regular updates to the business around outstanding debts.
- Scheduling regular meetings with the commercial and football teams to gain awareness of upcoming events and to provide insight into their customer accounts.
- Working closely with the payroll and cashbook team on the administration of player loan invoices, and direct debit collection, if applicable
- Maintaining a log of player transfer and loan receivables, assisting with the calculation of gross and net debts due

**Is this you?**

You’ll have experience working in an Accounts Receivable/Credit Controller role and have an eye for detail and be exceptionally organised. You’re able to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines, with the ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders.

**Person Specification**:

- Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, and use of management information systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - both written and verbal.
- A keen eye for detail with strong organisational and analytical skills.
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
- Professionalism when engaging with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Good numeracy and literacy skills.
- CICM or AAT Qualification - desirable.
