Temporary Domestic Abuse Helpline Worker

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate individual to join our team as a temporary domestic abuse helpline worker. In this role, you will provide critical support and guidance to callers, helping them navigate the complexities of domestic abuse and access vital services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to incoming calls and messages from individuals experiencing domestic abuse, providing immediate support and reassurance.
- Conduct thorough assessments of caller needs, identifying potential risks and developing effective safety plans.
- Collaborate with partner agencies to ensure seamless care and support, including refuge placement and counseling services.
- Provide ongoing emotional support and guidance to clients, empowering them to make informed decisions about their safety.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to data protection protocols.
Requirements:
- Substantial experience working in a helpline or crisis intervention setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge of local services and resources available to support victims of domestic abuse.
- A strong understanding of child and adult safeguarding principles, with the ability to apply these in practice.
- Experience in case management and crisis intervention, with the ability to think critically and respond effectively to complex situations.
Working Arrangements:
- Flexible working hours, with some evening and weekend work required.
- Ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
- A supportive and inclusive team environment, with regular supervision and peer support.
Estimated Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum, depending on experience.
