Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Scientist to join our Histopathology Department at The London Clinic. As a Specialist Biomedical Scientist, you will play a crucial role in providing an efficient and effective service, ensuring scientific standards are maintained, and Clinic policies are adhered to.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Senior Biomedical Scientists in carrying out routine histology tasks, including embedding, microtomy, special staining, immunohistochemistry, and specimen handling.
  • Process internal and external quality assurance, and assist in the evaluation of new equipment and method verification.
  • Operate and maintain analytical equipment, perform testing, and participate in rotational shift patterns.
  • Observe departmental quality and health and safety policies, and comply with the quality management system.
  • Undertake in-house audits, maintain up-to-date awareness of current developments, and comply with data entry and governance requirements.
Requirements
  • HCPC post-registration recent histology laboratory experience.
  • Experience of UKAS assessments and knowledge of the ISO standard.
  • Degree-level education (BSc in Biomedical Sciences) and IBMS specialist portfolio or MSc.
  • Experience in using a LIMS system and patient data entry.
  • Experience in Cytology and Mohs.
