Biomedical Scientist Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Biomedical Scientist to join our Advanced Diagnostics team at Guy's and St. Thomas' Hospitals Foundation Trust. As a Specialist Biomedical Scientist, you will play a key role in providing high-quality diagnostic services to patients, working closely with a team of experts in immunohistochemistry, renal histology, and molecular pathology.
Main Responsibilities- Undertake immunohistochemistry, renal histopathology, cryotomy, molecular pathology techniques, and quality tasks
- Work closely with a team of Medical Laboratory Assistants, Biomedical Scientists, and Trainee Biomedical Scientists
- Perform and assist with various validations and verifications of procedures, techniques, and equipment
- Provide expert-level theoretical and practical knowledge to the Advanced Diagnostics Service
- Ensure compliance with Medical Laboratories UKAS 15189:2022 and our immunohistochemistry flexible scope
- Participate in the frozen section and renal histology service at Guy's Hospital
- Undertake research, conduct trials, produce reports, and present findings to healthcare professionals

- BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science or equivalent first degree acceptable to Health Professions Council
- HCPC Registration (Histopathology Specialisation)

- Good interpersonal and team working skills
