We are currently in search of a committed Senior Biomedical Scientist to become a vital part of our Laboratory Diagnostics team at BioTalent. In this role, you will work closely with fellow senior professionals, histology personnel, and executive leadership to uphold the highest standards of operational excellence.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring that specimens are processed and dispatched with utmost precision within established turnaround times.
  • Assisting in the management of workload while maintaining high accuracy in all outputs.
  • Acting as the primary Senior BMS for training within the laboratory, promoting the professional growth of team members.
  • Overseeing IBMS portfolios to guarantee compliance and proficiency.
  • Coordinating work schedules and supervising MLA's, MTO's, and BMS' to ensure seamless operations.
  • Engaging in necessary training for ongoing professional development.
  • Utilizing and maintaining histology equipment in accordance with departmental policies.
  • Complying with Health and Safety regulations and adhering to safe laboratory practices at all times.
  • Participating in specimen dissection as needed.
  • Conducting annual staff evaluations to facilitate team development.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist.
  • A strong grasp of histological techniques, Health & Safety regulations, and laboratory IT systems. Familiarity with accreditation processes is a plus.
  • Experience in managing personnel and exposure to overseeing junior Biomedical Scientists.
