We are currently in search of a committed Senior Biomedical Scientist to become a vital part of our Laboratory Diagnostics team at BioTalent. In this pivotal role, you will work in close collaboration with fellow senior professionals, histology personnel, and leadership to uphold exceptional operational standards.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring that specimens are processed and dispatched with the utmost quality and within designated turnaround times.
- Assisting in the management of workloads while maintaining precision in all outputs.
- Taking the lead in training initiatives within the laboratory, nurturing the growth and development of team members.
- Overseeing IBMS portfolios to guarantee compliance and proficiency.
- Coordinating work schedules and supervising Medical Laboratory Assistants, Medical Technologists, and Biomedical Scientists to ensure smooth operations.
- Engaging in ongoing training for personal and professional development.
- Utilizing and maintaining histology equipment in alignment with departmental policies.
- Complying with Health and Safety regulations and adhering to safe laboratory practices at all times.
- Participating in specimen dissection as necessary.
- Contributing to annual staff evaluations to foster team growth.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist.
- A strong grasp of histological techniques, Health & Safety protocols, and laboratory IT systems. Familiarity with accreditation processes is a plus.
- Experience in managing personnel and a background in overseeing junior Biomedical Scientists.
