Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our Gastroenterology Team at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. As a key member of our department, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients and staff.

Main Duties

  • Participate as an integral member of the departmental team, undertaking general housekeeping duties, including some direct patient contact, to help provide a quality service.
  • Under the direction and supervision of the Nursing Staff, maintain tidiness in all areas, including patient rooms, corridors, and public areas.
  • Help with the cleaning of all equipment and quality testing of specialized equipment, ensuring it is in good working order.
  • Be responsible for the maintenance of equipment at ward level, reporting any issues to the Ward Coordinator and ensuring accurate records are kept.
  • Check linen allocation daily, report any problems to the Ward Coordinator, and liaise with the linen room to rectify issues.
  • Ensure dirty linen is disposed of correctly, and ensure adequate stocks of items are in areas as required.
  • Check emergency equipment is available and functioning correctly, including oxygen tubing, masks, and suction.
  • Assist with the ordering of stores and stationery supplies, knowing how to use Oracle EP2P where applicable.
  • Promote a safe working environment by keeping all storage areas clean and neat.
