Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Medicine Specialist to join our team at Medical Solutions. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the overall operational effectiveness of the department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clinical Care:
    • Assess, diagnose, and manage a wide range of clinical conditions under consultant supervision, ensuring patients receive optimal treatment and care.
    • Take part in ward rounds, outpatient clinics, and theatre sessions as required, working closely with consultants and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care.
    • Manage patients admitted for elective or emergency care, including peri-operative care where relevant, demonstrating expertise in respiratory medicine.
    • Liaise with consultants, GPs, and other multidisciplinary team members to ensure seamless communication and coordinated care.
  • On-Call Duties:
    • Participate in the on-call rota as required, providing emergency care for patients and attending to emergencies within the hospital.
  • Teaching and Training:
    • Supervise and support junior doctors in clinical practice, contributing to their development and growth as medical professionals.
    • Contribute to teaching and education for medical students and allied health professionals, sharing your expertise and knowledge in respiratory medicine.
  • Audits and Research:
    • Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement projects, driving excellence and continuous improvement in patient care.
    • Engage in research activities relevant to the department, advancing knowledge and understanding in respiratory medicine.
  • Professional Development:
    • Maintain and develop professional skills and knowledge, engaging with continued professional development (CPD) activities and attending relevant courses.
    • Keep an up-to-date training portfolio, reflecting your commitment to ongoing learning and professional growth.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Medical Degree (MBBS/MBChB or equivalent)
  • Completion of Core Medical or Surgical Training
  • ST3-ST8 Training Level
