Chichester, West Sussex, United Kingdom Ministry of Defence (Defence Medical Services) Full time

The Ministry of Defence (Defence Medical Services) seeks a highly skilled Senior Mental Health Specialist in Learning Disability to join their team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, evidence-based interventions as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver a safe, effective, and professional mental health service.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Providing interventions to maximize the number of personnel fit for role.
  2. Working collaboratively with the team to deliver a comprehensive mental health service.
  3. Ensuring adherence to the Ministry of Defence's policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. They will also have a strong understanding of mental health principles and practices, with experience of working with individuals with learning disabilities.

As a result of the changes to the UK immigration rules, the Ministry of Defence will only offer sponsorship for a skilled worker visa under the points-based system where a role has been deemed to be business critical. This role does not meet that category, and we will not sponsor a visa.

The Ministry of Defence is committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment for its staff, which includes educating them on the benefits of not smoking, protecting them from the harmful effects of second-hand smoke, and supporting those who want to give up smoking.
