Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced MRI Lead Radiographer to join our team at the Division of Surgery – BHRUT NHS. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining a safe and effective MRI imaging service, providing support to the management team and working collaboratively with the MRI team of radiographers, students, and support workers.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to further develop your skills and practice in a modern and supportive environment. You will be responsible for leading the technical and radiographer staff, standardizing protocols, managing patient bookings and waiting lists, and managing radiographers and radiology support workers throughout all areas.

The post-holder will participate in the effective day-to-day running of the MRI service, ensuring that it is maintained with training of staff to perform in accordance with Trust policies, including comprehensive competency assessments. You will also be responsible for promoting continuous improvements in service delivery and quality within all areas of the MRI service, using modern methods to improve productivity and lead in the delivery of service and workforce transformation.

Main Duties of the Job

  • To lead the technical/radiographer staff and further develop an efficient MRI service for BHRUT.
  • To participate in the effective day-to-day running of the MRI service, standardizing protocols, managing patient bookings and waiting lists, and managing radiographers and radiology support workers throughout all areas.
  • To ensure that the MRI service is maintained with training of staff to perform in accordance with Trust policies, including comprehensive competency assessments.
  • To promote continuous improvements in service delivery and quality within all areas of the MRI service, using modern methods to improve productivity and lead in the delivery of service and workforce transformation.
