Challenging Behaviour Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about supporting children and teenagers with challenging behaviour? Do you have a caring and positive nature, with an interest in mental health?

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Challenging Behaviour Teaching Assistant at a specialist provision in Oxford.

This SEN school caters for students who display challenging behaviour due to diagnosed social, emotional and mental health needs, as well as Autism and ADHD.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Establish positive relationships with students, encouraging them to make informed decisions and promoting a sense of belonging.
  2. Foster strong bonds with all pupils, ensuring they feel valued and respected.
  3. Develop and implement restorative practices and therapeutic methods to engage pupils and promote positive behaviour.
  4. Contribute to improving attendance and behaviour within the school.

This role offers valuable experience for those considering careers in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Counselling, Probation, and Occupational Therapy.

The ideal candidate will be determined, resilient, and passionate about mental health and behaviour. Previous experience working with children or managing challenging behaviour is beneficial.
