Role Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated HCPC Registered Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join our innovative Care Home Intensive Support Team (CHIST). As a specialist clinical professional, you will play a key role in enhancing the health and wellbeing of care home residents by providing hands-on clinical support, advice, and guidance based on their needs.

The role is community-based with remote working, requiring you to meet travel demands across the county in care homes registered with Staffordshire County Council. You will work closely with care home staff, supporting service users, families, and carers in dealing with the impact of acquired communication difficulties.

Main Responsibilities

  • ">
  • Provide support and advice with personalised care planning, nutritional advice/signposting, and navigating links with other Health and Social Care services.">
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, developing effective relationships with care home staff.">
  • Be skilled in risk management, prioritising support needed in a care home and escalating any issues appropriately.">
  • Promote effective team working in care homes, sharing experiences and knowledge with others, in accordance with evidence-based practice.">

About Us

We offer a competitive salary of £50,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to this, we provide:

Requirements

  • Degree in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent.">
  • Registration with HCPC.">
  • Post Graduate RCSLT accredited dysphagia course or equivalent.">
