Job Overview

In this dynamic role as an Assistant Accountant, you will be responsible for various tasks ensuring financial information is accurately entered into the accounting system and reconciled monthly to meet group reporting deadlines.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist in delivering the monthly management accounts and supplementary information according to the Group reporting timetable.
  • Provide proactive support to the Management Accountant and wider finance team by furnishing key information and analysis as required.
  • Maintain accurate and complete finance and accounting records using group systems and processes to facilitate efficient operational practices, audits, and other external and statutory processes, requirements, and submissions.
Key Accounting Tasks
  1. Production of monthly Inter-Company Reconciliations.
  2. Production of Balance Sheet Reconciliations.
  3. Production of P&L Reconciliations.
  4. Maintenance and reconciliation of Fixed Asset Registers.
  5. Preparation and review of all Prepayments & Accruals.
  6. Preparation and posting of journals.
  7. Assistance in the preparation of the cashflow forecast.
  8. Analysis of the expenses ledger.
Requirements
  • Part-qualified, studying towards qualifications (ACCA, CIMA), preferred.
  • Construction Industry experience is a plus.
  • Excellent Excel skills and previous usage of spreadsheets are essential.
  • Knowledge and experience of balance sheet and P&L reconciliations are necessary.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines are vital.
  • A flexible attitude to changing business needs is required.
Compensation Package

£35,000 per annum + an excellent benefit scheme.
