About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Duty Practitioner to join our team at Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to individuals in mental health crisis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the response to medical and psychiatric emergencies on the hospital site.
  • Deploy staff in urgent/emergency situations to achieve safe staffing levels within available resources.
  • Ensure the requirements of the Mental Health Act 2007 and other statutory regulations are observed and implemented.
  • Ensure that all staff comply with Trust policies and ensure that Risk Management and Health & Safety requirements are implemented.
  • Be conversant with the Major Incident and Fire Evacuation Procedures.
Requirements
  • Relevant professional mental health qualification to degree or diploma level.
  • Understanding of Individuals with Complex needs.
  • Ability to manage/supervise other staff.
  • Knowledge of up-to-date legislation, national and local policies relating to the Section 136 Police holding powers.
