About Us

">

We're on an exciting journey of cultural change at Devon County Council, continuing to embed relational ways of working. We believe that for most families, the family home is the best place for children to live and thrive.

Our Kinship Assessment Service plays a key role in supporting Devon as a corporate parent for children and young people who cannot live with their own families.

Comprised of three teams covering various areas, the Kinship Service assesses kinship carers, special guardians, and connected carers, working towards securing the best possible outcomes for children and young people in our care.

About the Role

You will be responsible for the preparation of assessments for both Court and Fostering Panels, supporting carers granted with Special Guardianship Orders, and those where Devon was the responsible authority.

This challenging and rewarding role places children and families at the centre of everything we do, providing robust assessments that support permanent decisions for children.

  • Exceptional recording and planning skills

Estimated salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum.
