About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Respiratory Physiologist to lead our team of respiratory physiologists. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality respiratory services within the Cardiorespiratory Department, ensuring that all patients receive exceptional care.

Job Description

The Lead Physiologist will be responsible for overseeing the management of technical resources, planning and managing the further development of respiratory, oxygen, and sleep services, and ensuring the quality of service provision. This includes audit, research, and development, procurement, and quality assurance of all equipment. Additionally, the role involves effective resource and HR management, staff recruitment and development, teaching and assessments, and provision of relevant training to junior doctors.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in respiratory physiology, with experience in performing a wide range of tests, including sleep, LOTOT, CPET, and PFT. They will also have significant experience at B7 level, as well as experience in people management, rotas, annual leave, and appraisals. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for this role.

Requirements
  • BSc Clinical Physiology or equivalent qualification
  • AHCP/RCCP or HCPC registration
  • ARTP Part I + II examination
  • Experience in a leadership role, with a proven track record of successfully managing teams and projects
