We are seeking an experienced and dedicated individual to join our team as an Academic Library Tutor at Global Banking School (GBS). This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our students and contribute to their academic success.

As an Academic Library Tutor, you will be responsible for providing academic support to students, guiding them through key tasks and classroom requirements, and ensuring they have access to the support they need to succeed. You will also be required to maintain a comprehensive knowledge of GBS and partner organisation support services, triage student problems, and provide basic academic support.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of GBS and partner organisation support services
  • Guide students in accessing support services
  • Triage student problems, offering immediate support or referring on as appropriate
  • Understand mitigating circumstances, deferral procedures, and academic regulations
  • Provide basic academic support to students
  • Refer students to appropriate support services
  • Help students navigate learning resources
  • Provide basic IT support
  • Signpost students to IT helpdesks
  • Identify and report common academic and IT-related issues
  • Monitor student attendance
  • Ensure students missing study are contacted
  • Refer students with low attendance to the Retention Team
  • Assist with survey administration and result collection

Minimum requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of administrative experience in Higher Education
  • Strong service delivery and customer/student-focused approach
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Administrative skills with proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Flexibility, approachability, and a strong customer service ethic
  • Ability to use initiative and judgement to resolve matters
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with tact and confidentiality

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience. Benefits include a contributory pension scheme, annual leave entitlement, and professional development opportunities.
