Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Academic Registrar to join our team at the Institute for Arts in Therapy & Education. As Academic Registrar, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our academic administration, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing support to Course Directors and other stakeholders.

This is a part-time position, 14 hours/2 days per week, offering flexibility and remote work possibilities with occasional on-site attendance for senior management meetings.

The Institute for Arts in Therapy & Education is a renowned independent therapy training institution with over 30 years of history, serving around 300 on-site students. We maintain strong partnerships with reputable organizations, including the University of East London (UEL), UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead on academic administrative policies, procedures, and systems ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee student data production for reporting purposes.
  • Collaborate with Course Directors to ensure regulatory and academic compliance.
  • Oversight of assessment administration.
  • Preparation of exam boards.
  • Primary point of contact with UEL departments.
  • Ensuring course documentation complies with University and accrediting body standards.
  • Development of new processes and updating policies as necessary.
  • Reviewing academic administrative schedules and ensuring deadlines are met.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Prior experience as an Academic Registrar or in a senior academic administrative role.
  • Undergraduate degree and/or professional qualification.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience within the Higher Education sector.
  • Experience working within a regulatory framework.
  • Excellent understanding and working knowledge of UK academic-related governance, regulations, administration, and organisational management in an educational institution.
  • Able to write clearly and concisely, presenting information regularly and timely.

Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.

The estimated salary range is based on national averages for similar roles in the Higher Education sector.
